Carrying

Carrying is inspired by ancient Persian rhytons, vessels traditionally shaped with animal forms that reflected the sacred significance of animals in Persian culture. The sculpture reinterprets this tradition through a contemporary human head, replacing the animal with the human figure who carries horn and ears of the original animal figure. A wound between the eyebrows evokes the brutality faced by innocent Iranian protesters, connecting an ancient visual language with the violence and suffering of the present.
