Lion n Sun
Project type
Ceramic Sculpture
Date
April 2026
Location
Newmarket, Ontario
Lion n Sun reinterprets the ancient Persian motif of the Lion and Sun through a contemporary ceramic form. The lion head draws from its presence throughout Persian art, while the wounded arm—shaped as a sun—speaks to the pain and suffering of Iranian people. Together, the forms connect cultural memory with resilience and the enduring presence of hope.
